The Asus ROG Phone series is probably the most popular smartphone series when it comes to gaming phones. Earlier this year, we got the ROG Phone 7 series, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and an improved cooling system.
The ROG Phone 7 series wasn’t massively different from the ROG Phone 6 series. But, that might change with the Asus ROG Phone 8 series. Asus has officially teased the launch of the ROG Phone 8 series on Twitter.
The official teaser did not reveal the launch date, but we did get the first look at the rear design. The ROG Phone 8 doesn’t have that fancy gaming-centric look like its predecessor. It has a clean back with a two-tone design. There is the “ROG” logo in the middle and the “EST 2006” text in the top right corner.
The camera module design is quite interesting as the phone has a big camera bump. This is unusual for a gaming-centric phone. The camera module has a triple camera setup and the “ROG” branding is present here as well.
We can also see the secondary USB Type-C port on the left side of the phone.
Finally, like all the latest phones nowadays, the Asus ROG Phone 8 has a flat frame.
There is no information on the specifications yet but don’t be surprised if the ROG Phone 8 launches with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
