Xiaomi Mi 10i to launch in India on January 5 with 108MP camera

It is a mid-range 5G phone with Snapdragon 750G

Almost a month ago, the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G launched in the Chinese market with the Snapdragon 750G SOC, a 108 Megapixel primary rear camera, a 120Hz LCD, 33W fast charging and more. Now, Xiaomi is bringing that phone to the Indian market but with a different name. In one of our previous articles, we mentioned that the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G would launch in India as the Xiaomi Mi 10i and now, Xiaomi has started teasing the launch. The launch will take place in the Indian market on the 5th of January.

As we know, the main highlight of the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is its 108 Megapixel primary rear camera. The same is the case for the Mi 10i since except for the name, there is no change in rest of the things such as the design, the specifications etc. The 108 Megapixel primary rear camera is paired with an 8 Megapixel ultrawide camera, 2 Megapixel macro camera and a 2 Megapixel depth sensor.  There is no OIS support, and also the video recording is limited to 4K 60fps even though this camera sensor can shoot 4K videos at up to 120fps.

On the front, Xiaomi Mi 10i has a 6.67-inch LCD with 120Hz refresh rate and Full-HD+ resolution. The display comes with Gorilla Glass 5 protection as well.

There is Snapdragon 750G SOC which is a mid-range chipset featuring an integrated 5G modem. We have already seen this SOC powering the Moto G 5G which is already available in the Indian market.

Finally, the Mi 10i has a 4,820mAh battery and supports 33W Fast Charging.

We don’t know exactly at what price Xiaomi is going to launch this phone in India but in China, the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G starts at 1,599 Yuan which translates to around Rs 18,000. We are expecting the starting price in India to be around Rs 20,000.
