Snapdragon SM6350 to be the first 6-series 5G SOC

Last year, Qualcomm launched its first Snapdragon 7-series chipsets with 5G support, the Snapdragon 765 & 765G. At the IFA 2019, Qualcomm announced that it in 2020, it will expand its portfolio of 5G chipsets in the 6-series, 7-series, and the 8-series. Well, it looks like we have got some specs of Qualcomm’s first 5G chipset under the 6-series.

The Snapdragon SM6350 is an upcoming 5G chipset from Qualcomm, and Digital Chat Station shared some specs of this chipset on Weibo. 

As mentioned in the title, it is the first 5G SOC under 6-series, so that’s the main USP of it. There is an octa-core CPU featuring 2x Performance-based cores clocked at 2.246GHz, and 6x Efficiency-based cores clocked at 1.804GHz. Now, the CPU architecture is not known yet.

There is Adreno 615 GPU with a maximum frequency of 850MHz, and it is the same GPU that is there for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 670.

Well, that’s all we know about the Snapdragon SM6350 , and the source further added that MediaTek (MT6853) and Kirin are also preparing to launch 5G chipsets for the budget devices.
