Alleged Qualcomm Snapdragon 735 specs leaked

In April this year, Qualcomm announced two new 7-series Snapdragon SOCs, namely Snapdragon 730 & 730G. Now, we have seen quite a lot of phones so far with these chipsets & while we are waiting for the unveiling of Snapdragon 865, it looks like Qualcomm is soon going to upgrade its 7-series by unveiling Snapdragon 735.

Today, some key specifications of this upcoming chipset leaked & looking at those, it won’t be wrong to say that this is going to be the most powerful mid-range SOC from Qualcomm when it launches.

So, one of the major upgrades over the Snapdragon 730 & 730G is that the Snapdragon 735 (SM7250) is based on the 7nm manufacturing process. This means better performance as well as better power efficiency. Talking about the performance, it is obviously going to be an octa-core chip with configuration as follows – 1x Cortex A76 @ 2.36GHz + 1x Cortex A76 @ 2.32GHz + 6x Cortex A55 @ 1.73GHz.

Finally, there is Adreno 620 GPU, which, as the name shows, is better than the Adreno 618 GPU that’s there in Snapdragon 730 & 730G.

CPU wise, this SOC is better & more powerful than the 7nm Kirin 810. While the Kirin 810 has two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.27GHz, the Snapdragon 735 has one Cortex-A76 core clocked at 2.36GHz & the other clocked at 2.32GHz. The same cannot be said about the GPU.

At the IFA 2019, Qualcomm announced that it would launch Snapdragon 7 & 6 series chipsets with 5G support, so maybe the Snapdragon 735 is one of those SOCs. Nothing can be said about when Qualcomm is going to unveil this SOC & when we start getting phones powered by it.
