Last year in April, the Samsung Galaxy M55 was launched with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset and a 50MP selfie camera. Today, the Samsung Galaxy M56 was launched in the Indian market, and this is a mid-range smartphone priced at ₹27,999. Looking at the spec sheet, the phone seems overpriced, which has been the case with this series for quite some years.
Design-wise, the phone has a different camera module design than the Galaxy M55. There is now a camera island with the triple camera setup in it. The phone has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the front and back, but the frame is plastic. On the front, the display has a hole-punch cutout, and Samsung says the bezels are 36% slimmer than the Galaxy M55. The phone lacks stereo speakers, and there is no IP6X rating, which we are seeing in phones these days in this segment.
Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy M56 has the Exynos 1480 chipset with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. There is a 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired charging.
Speaking of cameras, the phone has three on the rear. The primary rear camera has a 50MP sensor with OIS, the ultrawide camera has an 8MP sensor, and the macro camera has a 2MP sensor. There is a 12MP sensor for the selfie camera. The rear camera can shoot 4K 30fps videos.
Samsung has promised six OS updates for the Galaxy M56, and the phone most likely runs on Android 15-based OneUI 7 out of the box.
The phone has launched in Black & Light Green color options. Here is the pricing –
- 8GB + 128GB – ₹27,999
- 8GB + 256GB – ₹30,999
