Redmi Turbo 5 Max official renders reveal the design

The phone packs a 9,000mAh battery!

In January last year, the Redmi Turbo 4 was launched in the Chinese market with the MediaTek Dimensity 8400-Ultra chipset and a massive 6,550mAh battery. The phone was later launched globally as the Poco X7 Pro, but with a slightly smaller 6,000mAh battery.

The company will soon launch the Redmi Turbo 5 Max in the Chinese market, and in typical Redmi fashion, the brand has started sharing the key specifications on Weibo along with the official renders.

In terms of the design, there is little difference between the Redmi Turbo 5 Max and last year’s Redmi Turbo 4. The Turbo 5 Max comes with a flat metal frame, as evident from the antenna lines on the side. There is a dual camera setup on the rear, but the phone doesn’t seem to have any LED lights like last year’s Turbo 4. There are two LED flash modules on the rear, one of the differences between this phone and last year’s model. On the front, the phone has a flat display with slim bezels and a hole-punch cutout in the middle.

While the design remains mostly unchanged, there are some big upgrades in the specifications.

The Redmi Turbo 5 Max has the biggest battery ever in a Redmi smartphone. The phone packs a massive 9,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging support. Redmi shared some battery tests on its Weibo profile, which reveal the battery performance is almost identical to some 10,000mAh battery smartphones like the recently launched Honor Win.

Under the hood, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max has a MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset, which is built on the 3nm process and has an octa-core CPU with a prime Cortex-X925 core clocked at up to 3.73GHz. There is an Immortalis-G925 GPU with ray-tracing support.

As per some reports, the phone has an IP69 certification and an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner.

The phone is expected to launch globally as the Poco X8 Pro.
