Redmi Turbo 4 Starting Price
¥1999 (~$270)

The Redmi Turbo 3 was launched in April last year with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, and it was the most powerful phone in its price segment at the launch. The phone was later launched globally as the Poco F6 with an aggressive price. Today, the Redmi Turbo 4 was officially unveiled in China, and this time, Redmi has chosen a MediaTek chipset for this phone. It is still a performance-centric mid-range phone from the brand.

Design-wise, the phone has a dual camera setup on the rear with two big circles in the top left corner. The camera module design looks quite similar to the iPhone 16. The back has glass, but the frame is plastic. The phone is IP66, IP68, and IP69-certified. There are stereo speakers, NFC, wet touch 2.0 technology, and an IR blaster.

The phone comes in three colors, and all three have a dual-tone design on the back and a vertical strip. The two camera circles have a multi-color LED light which works as a notification light.

Speaking of the specifications, the performance is the main USP of the Redmi Turbo 4. The phone uses the MediaTek Dimensity 8400-ULTRA chipset, which is built on TSMC’s 4nm process and has an all-big core CPU design with eight Cortex-A725 cores clocked at up to 3.25GHz. The phone has LPDDR5X RAM with UFS 4.0 storage. Redmi claims an AnTuTu score of around 1.8 Million points, which is insane for a mid-range smartphone.

Compared to the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chipset, the multi-core performance is over 41% better, and the power consumption is reduced by 44%.

The battery is also upgraded, so the phone has a massive 6,550mAh battery with 90W wired charging. This is the largest battery in a Redmi smartphone, also seen in the Redmi K80. Thanks to the silicon-carbon technology, the thickness of the phone has not increased, so the phone is just 8.06mm thick. The weight is around 203.5g.

The display on the front is a 6.67-inch 1.5K OLED with a 3200 nits peak brightness, 12-bit colors, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and 1920Hz dimming. This is not an LTPO panel, so the refresh rate cannot go as low as 1Hz. There is an optical under-display fingerprint scanner.

The cameras are probably the least interesting part of this phone. The Redmi Turbo 4 has a dual camera setup on the rear. The primary camera has a 50MP Sony LYT-600 sensor with OIS and a large f/1.5 aperture lens. The secondary camera takes ultrawide photos and has an 8MP sensor. The selfie shooter has a 20MP sensor. The phone can shoot 4K videos at up to 60fps from the rear camera, but the selfie camera is limited to 1080p 30fps video recording.

Finally, the Redmi Turbo 4 runs on Android 15-based HyperOS 2 out of the box.
