Redmi Pad to launch with MediaTek Helio G99 SOC

The renders and specifications have leaked

In the past year or so, we have seen some new players in the Android tablet market, such as Realme, Motorola, etc. Now, Redmi is all set to launch its first Android tablet in the global market, which is aptly named the Redmi Pad. This will be a budget Android tablet that is expected to launch for under €250. Today, we got the official renders of the tablet, along with the full spec sheet, courtesy of WinFuture.

The tablet is coming in three color options – Graphite Gray, Moonlight Silver, and Mint Green. The back is metallic, and the tablet comes with Quad speakers. The thickness is just 7mm, and the tablet weighs around 445g. There is a single camera on the rear without an LED flash.

On the front, Redmi Pad has a 10.61-inch LCD with up to 90Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2000 x 1200 pixels. This panel offers 10-bit color depth and brightness up to 400 candelas.

Under the hood, it is powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 SOC, the latest “G” series chip from MediaTek, manufactured on the TSMC’s 6nm process. This chip is paired with 3GB or 4GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB UFS 2.2 storage.

There is an 8MP sensor on the rear with AutoFocus and an 8MP sensor on the front with a wide 105-degree field of view. The tablet also has the “FocusFrame” feature, which sounds similar to the iPad’s “Center Stage” feature or the “LimeLight” feature on Realme Pad X, which tracks the position of one or more people in the frame in real-time so that you are in the center of the frame during video calls.

Finally, Realme Pad has a large 8,000mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging. In the box, however, the tablet will come with a 22.5W adapter. Android 12 runs out of the box with MIUI on top.

Well, Xiaomi has announced a launch event on October 4, where it is launching some new devices, including the Xiaomi 12T series. We are expecting Redmi Pad to launch the same day.
