In October last year, we got the Oppo Find X8 and Find X8 Pro featuring impressive camera hardware and the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset. Today, the Oppo Find X9 and Find X9 Pro were officially launched in China, and these phones feature a different camera module design than their predecessor and upgraded internals.

OPPO FIND X9

Oppo Find X9

Starting with the vanilla model, the Oppo Find X9 features a square camera module on the rear, placed in the top left corner. The camera module has a triple camera setup and an LED flash. For comparison, the Oppo Find X8 had a circular camera module in the center. There are flat sides and a flat display with extremely slim bezels. The bezels on all four sides are just 1.15mm, versus 1.45mm on the Find X8. The phone is IP68 and IP69-certified and has a stereo speaker setup.

Under the hood, the Oppo Find X9 has the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The battery is upgraded from 5,630mAh in the Find X8 to a massive 7,025mAh. There is support for 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, the same as last year.

The display on the front is a 6.59-inch 1.5K 10-bit LTPO AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate and 3600 nits peak brightness. There is an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner. For comparison, the Oppo Find X8 was launched with an optical under-display fingerprint scanner.

Speaking of cameras, the Oppo Find X9 has three cameras on the rear. The primary camera has a 1/1.4″ 50MP Sony LYT-808 sensor with an f/1.6 aperture lens and OIS. The ultrawide camera has a 1/2.75″ 50MP Samsung JN5 sensor with an f/2.0 aperture lens. The periscope telephoto camera has a 1/1.95″ 50MP Sony LYT-600 sensor with a 73mm lens and OIS. There is also a multispectral sensor on the rear for better colors. For selfies, the phone has a 32MP camera. The rear camera can shoot 4K videos at up to 120fps, while the selfie camera can shoot up to 4K 60fps videos.

The phone runs on ColorOS 16 out of the box, based on Android 16.

The telephoto camera can be used for up to 10cm telemacro photography as well.

The phone can shoot 4K 60fps Dolby Vision videos from all the cameras. There is 4K 120fps video recording support for the main and the telephoto cameras. The selfie camera uses a 50MP sensor with autofocus and 4K 60fps video recording.
