OnePlus 13 – Here are the camera sensor details

New sensors for the ultrawide & telephoto cameras!

The OnePlus 12 was launched in December in China, featuring a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a periscope telephoto camera, a big 5,500mAh battery, and more. Later in January this year, the phone was launched globally.

Earlier this month, a source revealed that the OnePlus 13 would feature three 50MP sensors on the rear, compared to a 50MP + 48MP + 64MP setup on the OnePlus 12. Now, the same source, Digital Chat Station, has shared the sensor details of the prototype of the OnePlus 13.

As per the source, the phone features the same Sony LYT-808 sensor for the primary camera as the OnePlus 12. This is a 1/1.4″ sensor with a 1.12µm pixel size.

The ultrawide camera uses the Sony IMX882 sensor. This is a 50MP sensor with a 1/1.95″ size and a 0.8µm pixel size. For comparison, the OnePlus 12 features the 48MP Sony IMX581, a 1/2″ sensor with a 0.8µm pixel size.

Finally, the periscope telephoto camera has a 50MP Sony IMX882 sensor too, compared to a 1/2.0″ 64MP OmniVision OV64B on the OnePlus 12. The optical zoom is still 3x.

Well, there is not a significant upgrade in the hardware, even though the OnePlus 13 uses new sensors for the ultrawide and telephoto cameras. Let’s see how it all translates into the real world when the phone launches at the end of this year.
