LG Velvet officially revealed, launching on May 7th
LG Velvet is set to launch on May 7th, but today the company revealed the design as well as the specifications of the phone on its Newsroom (Korean). With this, all that’s left to know is the pricing, and that would be announced at the launch. In case you missed our previous articles on the device, it is a mid-range device from LG with 5G support.
The main USP of this phone isn’t its SOC or the screen. It is the design. The phone has a 3D Arc design, so the front and the rear glass are curved on the sides. There is a metal frame on the sides. Overall, the phone features a symmetrical design. On the front, there is a display with U-shaped notch, and on the back, there is a Raindrop camera design. It is named so because the camera lenses are placed in a way to depict the falling raindrops.
LG also shared the specifications of the LG Velvet. There is a 6.8-inch display on the front with 20.5:9 aspect ratio. LG calls it a Cinema FullVision display. There are Stereo speakers and AI Sound for a better audio listening experience. AI Sound automatically sets the optimal audio quality based on the content that is being plated on the screen.
On the back, there is a triple camera setup that includes a primary 48 Megapixel camera with Quad-binning technology that combines four pixels into one. The secondary camera is an 8 Megapixel ultrawide camera, and there is a third 5 Megapixel depth sensor.
There is a new ‘Voice Out Focus’ feature using which the noise can be separated from the audio while shooting a video. Also, the user can adjust the degree of noise reduction. There is also an ‘ASMR’ recording feature. Turning On this feature results in the sensitivity of the two high-performance microphones being maximized.
LG Velvet comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 SOC, and this SOC features an integrated 5G modem. Since the modem is integrated, there is no need to go for a separate 5G modem as in case of Snapdragon 865. This also means the phone is pretty slim.
Finally, there is a 4,300mAh battery underneath, and as we know already, there is support for 10W Wireless Charging.
LG Velvet will launch in four color options, and all the color options look gorgeous. So, what do you think of this device from LG? Do let us know via the comments section below.
