A few days ago, the OnePlus Ace 6T was officially launched in the Chinese market, featuring the all-new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, a massive 8,300mAh battery, a 1.5K 165Hz AMOLED panel, and more. The phone was launched in China at a starting price of ¥2599, or around $370. Well, the brand is all set to launch the device in the global market with a different name. It will launch as the OnePlus 15R, and as the name suggests, this will be the successor to the OnePlus 13R, which was praised for its incredible value for money. But not every specification of the OnePlus 15R is the same as the Ace 6T.
Speaking of the similarities, the OnePlus 15R has the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset as the OnePlus Ace 6T. Compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the 13R, there is a 36% faster CPU, an 11% faster GPU, and 46% better AI performance. This new chipset is also more efficient than its predecessor. OnePlus has added two custom chips in this phone – the G2 WiFi chip and a touch-response chip. There is a 165Hz 1.5K AMOLED panel. The phone has IP66/68/69/69K certification, and it runs on OxygenOS 16 out of the box.

There is one change versus the OnePlus Ace 6T. The OnePlus 15R has a smaller battery. Compared to an 8,300mAh battery in the OnePlus Ace 6T, the 15R has a 7,400mAh battery. It is still quite larger than the 6,000mAh battery in the OnePlus 13R. The OnePlus 15, which is the company’s flagship phone, has a slightly smaller 7,300mAh battery. It is also reported that the OnePlus 15R has a slightly slower 80W wired charging, versus 100W in the OnePlus Ace 6T.
It is not yet confirmed whether the global model comes with an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner since the OnePlus Ace 6T has it.
The OnePlus 13R was launched for a starting price of $599, so let’s see at what price the OnePlus 15R gets launched on December 16.
