Two months after the launch of ZTE Axon 11 5G, company’s first 5G phone, ZTE launched a cheaper version of that device in China named Axon 11 SE 5G. While the Axon 11 5G started at 2,698 Yuan, the ZTE Axon 11 SE comes at a price of 1,998 Yuan or $280. Unlike the Axon 11 5G that had the Snapdragon 765G SOC, ZTE took the MediaTek route for the Axon 11 SE.
Comparing the design to that of Axon 11 5G, there are some big differences like a flat display on the front, a punch-hole instead of a notch, and a rear-facing fingerprint scanner instead of an in-display one. The design of the rear camera setup, however, is the same.
The display on the front is a 6.53-inch Full-HD+ LCD panel with a punch-hole cutout on the top left that houses the 16 Megapixel selfie camera. The screen-to-body ratio is 90.8%. Under the hood, there is MediaTek Dimensity 800 chipset which comes with 5G Modem for 5G support. It is a very powerful mid-range SOC featuring four Cortex-A76 cores clocked at up to 2.0GHz & four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz as well.
It might not be as powerful as the Dimensity 820 which powers the Redmi 10X 5G, but still, it is a very capable chipset at this price. There is 6/8GB RAM & 128/256GB storage.
The Quad camera setup on the rear includes a primary 48 Megapixel shooter accompanied by an 8 Megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2 Megapixel Macro & a 2 Megapixel depth sensor.
