Xiaomi Pocophone F1 gets Bluetooth certified, Snapdragon 845 confirmed

It looks like the ‘Pocophone’ is going to be the most weirdly named device from the company. There are very few chances that we are going to see the phone launching in global markets with the same name, but still, it is the first time we are getting a phone with such an interesting name from Xiaomi. Normally, we see only Redmi or Mi series phones from the company. Anyways, the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 is expected to be one of the cheapest Snapdragon 845-powered smartphones, and today, the device got Bluetooth certified.

Xiaomi Pocophone F1 Bluetooth Certification

The certification confirmed that the phone is indeed coming with the Snapdragon 845 processor under the hood. This isn’t the first time we hear anything about the Pocophone. In fact, Xiaomi Pocophone F1 has already got certification from NCC and FCC, which show that the launch is happening pretty soon (Most probably by the end of August). Also, a source recently revealed that the phone would surely launch in the Indian market, but probably with a different name.

The Bluetooth SIG certification also reveals that there is a dual rear camera setup that includes a 12MP + 5MP camera combination. The primary rear camera has 1.4-micron large pixels. There is a 20MP front-facing camera that features the pixel binning technology.

Xiaomi Pocophone F1 has a similar Face Unlock technology as the Mi 8

On the front, the phone has a notch, and the notch houses the Infrared Illuminator and Infrared Camera for an accurate Face scan using the AI Face Unlock. The company says that the AI Face Unlock on the Pocophone F1 works even in the pitch-dark conditions. This Face Unlock tech is pretty similar to what we have on the Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer Edition.

So, the dual camera setup on the rear as well as the front camera is identical to what we have on the Redmi Note 5. There is no information about the sensors, but we are expecting them to remain the same as those on Redmi Note 5 since it is going to be a cheaper device than most of the flagships with Snapdragon 845.

There are reports that the phone will come with a starting price of 390 Euros that translates to $450. If this is true, this phone can be a huge hit, considering how cheap it is for the specifications that it offers.
