Here’s our first official look at the Xiaomi Mix Flip

Xiaomi's first foldable flip phone!

Recently, we got the first look at the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4, the company’s fourth-generation foldable phone launching on July 19 in China. Xiaomi is also launching its first foldable flip phone on the 19th of July in China, the Xiaomi Mix Flip. Today, we finally got our official first look at the phone.

The Xiaomi Mix Flip features a large cover display that goes around the dual cameras, similar to the Motorola Razr. This is a 4.01″ display, making it the largest cover display on a foldable flip phone, larger than the 3.6-inch display on the Razr 40 Ultra and the 3.4-inch panel on the Z Flip 6.

Thanks to such a huge cover display, the Mix Flip will support a full-size keyboard and multiple apps can be used from the cover display without having to open the device.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi Mix Flip has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, so performance is not going to be an issue with this device. There is LPDDR5X RAM with UFS 4.0 storage and a large 4,780mAh battery.

As for the dual camera setup, there is a 50MP sensor for the primary camera with an f/1.7 lens. The second camera is for zoom shots and features a 2x telephoto lens.

The Xiaomi Mix Flip looks like an impressive clamshell foldable from the brand, but it is not yet known whether Xiaomi has plans to launch it outside China. If it does, then this would give a tough competition to the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Razr 40 Ultra.
