Xiaomi Mi A3 & Mi A3 Lite launching soon, SOCs confirmed

In 2017, Xiaomi surprised everyone by launching a phone without MIUI running on top of Android. Instead of MIUI, the company went for stock Android & launched Xiaomi Mi A1 under the Android One program. Then, the story continued with last year’s Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite. The Mi A2 wasn’t that well-received due to some significant cons like battery life, no headphone jack, no expandable storage, etc.

Now, Xiaomi is all set to launch the third generation of its Android One phones, the Xiaomi Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite.

Xiaomi Mi A2 of 2018

As per the exclusive information provided to MySmartPrice by Ishan Agarwal, the Xiaomi Mi A3 has Snapdragon 730 processor while the Mi A3 Lite gets Snapdragon 675. This debunks the rumor of the Mi CC9 and CC9e to launch globally as Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite since the CC9 has Snapdragon 710 & CC9e gets Snapdragon 665. So, the Mi A3 duo is going to be even more powerful than the CC9 series.

We already know that the Xiaomi Mi A3 is codenamed “bamboo_sprout” whereas the Mi A3 Lite bears the codename “cosmos_sprout.”

The design is most likely going to be similar to the Mi CC9 series phones with a triple camera setup on the back, glass & metal build & an in-display fingerprint scanner. Xiaomi ditched the headphone jack in last year’s Mi A2, , but we hope that this year, we are getting it back on the Mi A3. Moreover, it is rumored that we are getting a battery with the size around 4,000mAh, which is good news.

The launch date is not yet known & there is no teaser from the company yet. But, since Xiaomi Mi A2 launched in July last year, expect the Xiaomi Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite to launch globally next month, i.e., in August.
