Xiaomi launched a new smartphone today in China named the Mi 10 Youth Edition, and it is basically the Mi 10 Lite (already official in Europe) but with a few extra features. First, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition is a 5G device just like the Mi 10 Lite, but there is an impressive 5X Optical Zoom, thanks to a periscope camera on the rear.
XIAOMI MI 10 YOUTH EDITION – DESIGN & SPECIFICATIONS
The design remains the same as the Mi 10 Lite, i.e., a Quad camera setup on the rear placed on the top left, and a display with U-shaped notch on the front. The USB Type-C port is on the bottom whereas the 3.5mm headphone jack is on the top. There are five color options – Black, White, Orange, Green, and a Blue-Green Gradient.
There is a 6.57-inch Samsung AMOLED panel on the front with Full-HD+ resolution and 180Hz touch-sampling rate. There is a fingerprint scanner underneath the screen. This screen supports HDR10/HDR10+ playback & has the TÜV Rheinland Certification. For protection, there is Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top.
It is a mid-range device and features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SOC which comes with an integrated 5G modem. So, the phone supports 5G Networks. Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition comes with 6/8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64/128/256GB UFS 2.1 storage. There is a 4,160mAh battery underneath, and the phone supports 22.5W Fast Charging.
Coming to the camera setup, there are Quad cameras on the rear that include a primary 48 Megapixel camera with f/1.79 aperture lens, an 8 Megapixel Periscope Telephoto camera with 5X Optical Zoom, 50X Digital Zoom and OIS, an 8 Megapixel ultrawide camera, and a macro camera. The rear camera can shoot 4K 30fps videos. On the front, there is a 16 Megapixel camera for selfies.
Finally, Android 10 runs out of the box with MIUI 11 running on top.

Mi 10 Youth Edition comes in five colors and here is the pricing for China –

- 6GB + 128GB – 2,299 Yuan ($325)
- 8GB + 128GB – 2,499 Yuan ($353)
- 8GB + 256GB – 2,799 Yuan ($395)
The first sale is set to happen on May 4th in China.
