Xiaomi 14 Pro – Here’s our first look at the design

A Quad camera setup this time!

In December last year, the Xiaomi 13 Pro was launched in China, featuring three 50MP sensors, one of which was the 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor. The on-paper specifications included a Quad-HD+ LTPO display with 1900 nits peak brightness, 120W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, IP68 certification, stereo speakers, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and more.

This year, too, we are expecting Xiaomi to launch the “14” series in China in December, and today, we got our first look at the Xiaomi 14 Pro, courtesy of OnLeaks and 91Mobiles.

As we can see, the camera module is larger and has four sensors. For comparison, the Xiaomi 13 Pro had a triple camera setup. The renders do not show a “square” lens, so it is hard to say whether the phone has a periscope camera. But, based on the camera bump, it shouldn’t be hard to guess the size of the primary sensor. We expect the phone to retain the 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor from the 13 Pro.

On the front, the Xiaomi 14 Pro has a flat display, not a curved one. It is interesting to see all the smartphone companies moving away from the curved displays on their premium phones. The sides are flat, and there are stereo speakers (one on the bottom and one on the top).

The dimensions are 161.6 x 75.3 x 8.7mm, meaning the Xiaomi 14 Pro is shorter (161.6mm vs. 162.9mm), wider (75.3mm vs. 74.6mm), and thicker (8.7mm vs. 8.4mm) than the Xiaomi 13 Pro. The display size is around 6.6 inches, smaller than the 6.73-inch panel on the 13 Pro.

There is no information on the spec sheet yet, but the phone is undoubtedly launching with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
