The Xiaomi 13 series was initially launching on December 1, but the launch was postponed due to the passing of Jiang Zemin – Former President of the People’s Republic of China. Today, Xiaomi finally announced the new launch date. The launch is happening on December 11 in China, that is, in a couple of days. Xiaomi has also shared a lot of high-quality images of both the 13 and 13 Pro on Weibo, giving us a good look at the overall design of both phones.
The images above show the Blue color option of Xiaomi 13, and it has a leather-like finish on the back. Xiaomi says this back material is wear and dirt-resistant. The frame is flat and has a glossy finish. The flat design is everywhere on this phone, even on the buttons on the side, which are flat and not rounded. There is a flat display with a hole punch cutout in the middle. The square shaped camera module has a triple camera setup and the LEICA branding.
The Xiaomi 13 is also coming in a White color option which does not have the same back texture as the Blue color. Instead, this one has a shiny glass back.
The camera module says “VARIO-SUMMICRON 1:1.8-2.2/15-75 ASPH.”.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro will be a proper premium flagship, inheriting the biggest highlight of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, which is a 1-inch camera sensor. The primary camera has a 1-inch 50MP Sony IMX989 sensor. The phone has a 75mm telephoto lens as well. The images above show the “Ceramic Green” color option of the 13 Pro. The camera module says “VARIO-SUMMICRON 1:1.9-2.2/14-75 ASPH.”.
Xiaomi has also confirmed that the 13 & 13 Pro feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, LPDDR5X RAM, and UFS 4.0 storage.
