Xiaomi 13 Series will officially launch on December 1

Unsurprisingly, it will first launch in China

The Xiaomi 12 series was unveiled first in China in December last year. And now, Xiaomi has officially announced that the Xiaomi 13 series is launching next month in China. The launch is taking place on December 1, and along with this series, Xiaomi is also launching the next MIUI version – MIUI 14. On its Weibo page, Xiaomi has shared some of the features of the series, so in this article, let’s talk about all of that.

Like the past few years, there are at least two flagship phones under this series – Xiaomi 13 & Xiaomi 13 Pro. The vanilla model will feature a flat display and sides, whereas the “Pro” model will launch with a curved display. Interestingly, the images shared by the company suggest that even the “Pro” model has flat sides, which we rarely see in phones with curved displays. Xiaomi also revealed that the 13 series features an IP68 rating.

As for the display, Xiaomi shared the front look of the vanilla model with flat sides to show how thin the bezels are. It is worth mentioning that Xiaomi 12 has a curved display.

As shown in the image above, Xiaomi 13 has a bottom chin measuring just 1.81mm, which means this chin is slimmer than even the Galaxy S22. The side and top bezels are only 1.61 mm. Overall, the screen-to-body ratio is 93.3%. The phone is 71.5mm wide, slightly wider than the Xiaomi 12.

Xiaomi also revealed that the company used a new material on the back panel, which gives a leather feeling and is resistant to abrasion, discoloration, and dirt.

We are yet to know about the specifications, but we won’t be surprised to see Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 powering both the Xiaomi 13 & 13 Pro.
