Xiaomi announced its partnership with Leica last month and also announced that the first phone with Leica branding is coming in July. While Xiaomi has not officially revealed the name of that phone, we know that it is the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, the highest-end premium flagship from the brand. As the name suggests, this is the successor to Xiaomi 11 Ultra, which was an absolute beast in terms of specifications. Today, we got to see the design of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra via some renders that were shared by OnLeaks in collaboration with Zouton.
As we can see, the main USP of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra in terms of design is the camera module on the rear. There is a huge circular camera module on the rear that includes multiple cameras. It is also worth mentioning that OnLeaks said there are eight holes in the camera module, and the sensors that the renders show are based on a mere guess as he was not able to clearly identify which hole is for the camera and which one is for some other components.
Another thing to note is the Leica logo on the camera module. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra has the iconic red Leica logo which we have seen on only one phone so far, Leica’s own Leitz phone. Even on Huawei’s flagships that sported Leica branding, there wasn’t this red logo.
The specifications are not yet known, but we do know that the phone is coming with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SOC.
It is launching in July so we will get to know more details soon. Stay tuned.
