“VIVO Z1 PRO LAUNCHED IN INDIA TODAY & IN THIS ARTICLE, LET’S TALK ABOUT THE DESIGN, SPECIFICATIONS & THE PRICING OF THE PHONE”
Gone are the days when companies like Oppo and Vivo were mocked for their advertisements and selfie-centric phones. In the past couple of years, both companies have launched some unique and extremely great value for money devices. Oppo’s Reno series is being praised by everyone for its superb camera hardware & today, Vivo launched a new phone in India in the sub Rs 20,000 price segment.
Yes, the company launched a phone in the most competitive price segment in India. It’s the Vivo Z1 Pro (I genuinely hate when companies throw around the “Pro” word everywhere). For a starting price of Rs 14,990 this phone will make you think twice before choosing a phone to buy around Rs 15,000 in India.
VIVO Z1 PRO – DESIGN & SPECIFICATIONS
One of the highlights of the Z1 Pro is that hole-punch display on the front. Now, at a starting price of Rs 14,990, this becomes the cheapest phone with a hole-punch screen in India, a crown that the Galaxy M40 had till now. The phone does look unique with that hole-punch screen, and it makes it look different than all the phones with notches at this price. There is, however, a noticeable bottom chin.
It is a 6.53-inch Full-HD+ IPS LCD panel with 90.77% screen-to-body ratio & 19.5:9 aspect ratio.
At first glance, you might think there is a glass back, but the phone has a glossy plastic back and also a plastic frame. But that’s not much of a big deal considering that the use of metal or glass would’ve made the phone heavy due to that 5,000mAh battery underneath.
There are triple cameras on the rear that include a primary 16MP camera with an f/1.78 aperture lens, a secondary 8MP super wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture lens and 120-degree FOV, & finally a third 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture lens. There is a single 32MP front camera, so in terms of the cameras, the Vivo Z1 Pro seems solid, at least on paper.
The Vivo Z1 Pro is first Snapdragon 712-powered phone in India & it is an upgrade to the Snapdragon 710 that we see on phones like Realme 3 Pro. The Snapdragon 712 is an octa-core 10nm chip with Kryo 360 CPU, Adreno 616 GPU & clock speed up to 2.3GHz. If you talk about the benchmark scores, the Vivo Z1 Pro is second to the Poco F1 under Rs 20,000.
The phone comes with 4/6GB RAM and 64/128GB storage.
Well, it doesn’t stop at the display, camera & performance. There is a massive 5,000mAh battery underneath & on top of that, you get 18W Fast Charger in the box. It is a shame that still, the phone has a micro USB port. But unlike Xiaomi, Vivo is providing a fast charger in the box, so that’s a good thing. Android 9 Pie runs out of the box with Funtouch OS 9 on top.
The phone does have a headphone jack & there is a triple card slot for dual SIM cards as well as a micro SD card.
Another feature unique to the phone is the Multi-Turbo feature that has other sub-features like Net Turbo, Center Turbo, AI Turbo, and Cooling Turbo functions.
The Net Turbo feature maintains better network status, whereas the Center Turbo feature keeps the game’s CPU and memory resources smooth. The AI Turbo feature recognizes your usage pattern and facilitates the faster opening of everyday applications. The Cooling Turbo features brings down the temperature on the surface to ensure that the performance of the phone is seamless, even during intense gaming sessions.
