Last year in November, the Vivo X90 series was launched in China, powered by the Dimensity 9200 SOC. Today, the company launched the X90s in China. As the name suggests, this is an upgraded version of the X90. The main highlight of the Vivo X90s is the chipset. As the title suggests, the phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ SOC, an upgrade to the Dimensity 9200.
Design-wise, the only difference between the X90 & X90s is that the latter is offered in two extra color options – White & Green. Apart from that, the X90s is the same phone as X90 in design. There is a circular camera module with a triple camera setup, a curved display, an IP64 rating, stereo speakers, and an optical in-display fingerprint sensor.
As for the specifications, the Vivo X90s is powered by Dimensity 9200+ SOC. This SOC features an octa-core CPU clocked at up to 3.35GHz and an Immortalis-G715 GPU. Compared to the Dimensity 9200 SOC, the Plus version offers up to 10% better CPU performance and up to 17% better GPU performance. The phone has LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.
The phone has a 6.78-inch 10-bit AMOLED display with 2800 × 1260 pixels resolution and up to 120Hz refresh rate, the same panel as on the X90. The triple camera setup is identical, too – a 50MP Sony IMX866 sensor with OIS + 12MP Sony IMX663 sensor with a 50mm lens + a 12MP Sony IMX663 sensor with an ultrawide lens. The selfie camera has a 32MP sensor.
The battery size is also the same at 4810mAh, as is the charging speed at 120W.
So, the Vivo X90s is simply the X90 but with a slightly better SOC.
As for the pricing, here are the prices for the Chinese market –
- 8GB + 256GB – ¥3999 (~$553)
- 12GB + 256GB – ¥4299 (~$595)
- 12GB + 512GB – ¥4699 (~$650)
Compared to thelaunch pricing of the Vivo X90, the X90s is priced the same for the 8GB + 256GB variant, but the other two variants of the X90s are cheaper than X90. In short, you are getting a more powerful device for the same or even lower price.
The phone will go on sale in China on June 30.
