Alongside the Vivo X80 that we talked about in our previous article, the company also launched X80 Pro. It is the highest-end premium phone from the brand currently (excluding the foldables) in the market and is the successor to last year’s Vivo X70 Pro, a phone that was praised for its premium design and camera experience. There is no X80 Pro+ yet, and we don’t know whether the company has plans to launch that phone. So, for now, we are assuming the X80 Pro to be the best that the company has to offer under the X80 series this year.

Design-wise, this phone looks the same as X80. The only change is the addition of an extra camera on the rear. The phone has IP68 certification, which is something the vanilla model lacks. Moreover, instead of an optical in-display fingerprint scanner, the X80 Pro gets an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner.

There are stereo speakers, and the phone supports wireless charging too.

There are three color options, with the Orange color having a Vegan leather back.

Speaking of the cameras, Vivo X80 Pro has four on the rear. The primary camera has a 1/1.3-inch Samsung GNV sensor with OIS and an f/1.57 lens. The secondary camera has a 48MP Sony IMX598 sensor with an ultrawide lens that shoots macro photos. The third camera has a Sony IMX663 sensor with a 50mm Portrait lens and Gimbal Stabilization. Finally, there is a fourth 8MP sensor with OIS & a periscope lens offering 5X Optical Zoom and up to 60x digital zoom.

For selfies, there is a 32MP sensor on the front.

Like the X80, X80 Pro has a ZEISS T* coating for all the lenses to reduce flares, and there is a Vivo V1+ ISP chip to handle image processing. This chip also offers MEMC dynamic interpolation, display performance optimization, etc.

The display on the front is a 6.78-inch 120Hz Samsung E5 AMOLED with a Quad-HD+ resolution and LTPO 2.0 tech that lets the refresh rate go as low as 1Hz when needed. Under the hood, there is either Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SOC. It depends on which variant you go for. The battery size is 4,700mAh, and along with 80W fast wired charging, the phone also supports 50W fast wireless charging.

Finally, speaking of the price, Vivo X80 Pro comes in three storage options, and here is the price –

  • 8GB + 256GB – ¥5499 (~$841)
  • 12GB + 256GB – ¥5999 (~$918)
  • 12GB + 512GB – ¥6699 (~$1,025)

The phone will go on sale in China on the 29th of April.
