[UPDATE – OFFICIAL RENDER] Vivo X50 Pro to be the thinnest 5G phone, has a gimbal camera

UPDATE – MAY 22 – Vivo shared the official render of the X50 & X50 Pro on its Weibo profile that shows the front and the rear of the phones.

Vivo X50 Pro is launching on June 1 in China & the company has started teasing it on Weibo. The main USP of this phone is going to be the camera setup on the rear. Vivo has already revealed in video teasers that the phone features Quad cameras on the rear, and there is a huge primary camera sensor.

It is certainly the 50 Megapixel Samsung GN1 sensor that was recently launched with impressive specs including 1.2-micron pixel size, Dual Pixel as well as tetra cell technology, and 1/1.3″ sensor size.

Today, Digital Chat Station posted another video showing the rear design and the camera setup of X50 Pro. The Product Manager of Vivo shared the post on his Weibo profile and revealed that the Vivo X50 Pro is the thinnest 5G phone with a thickness of just 7.4xmm. Also, the phone is pretty lightweight at 170g. He further stated that the company neither reduced the battery size nor went for a plastic frame. So, all of this sounds pretty impressive!

As we have seen in the previous video teaser from the company, the primary camera on the vivo X50 Pro features Gimbal-Like stabilization and if you recall, Vivo introduced this feature in its concept phone, the Vivo Apex 2020. So, Vivo is now bringing that impressive tech to its upcoming phone. That kind of stabilization is far better than OIS and EIS.

The specifications of the phone are still a mystery but the Vivo X30 Pro launched last year with Exynos 980 5G chipset so Vivo would either go for the Exynos 990 or Snapdragon 865 5G for the X50 Pro. Let’s see what chipset Vivo has chosen for its upcoming flagship.
