Today, the Vivo X100 Ultra was launched in China, the company’s highest-end premium flagship for 2024. Alongside it, the company also launched two more flagships – the Vivo X100s and the X100s Pro. Going by the names, these are the upgrades over the Vivo X100 & X100 Pro, launched in November last year with the Dimensity 9300 chipset. The biggest upgrade in the X100s series is the Dimensity 9300+ chipset, the latest flagship SOC from MediaTek.
VIVO X100s
Starting with the vanilla model, the X100s looks identical to other X100 series phones from the rear. There is a circular camera module with a triple camera setup and ZEISS T* branding. On the front, however, the phone has a flat display, not a curved one. This means the frame of the phone is also flat, not curved. The phone is IP69 & IP68-certified.
The display is a 6.78-inch 8T LTPO OLED with a 1.5K resolution, 2160Hz PWM dimming, and 3000 nits peak brightness. There is a 5,100mAh battery with 100W wired charging. There is no wireless charging support.
Under the hood, the phone has the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset, which features a higher clock speed for the prime Cortex-X4 core compared to the Dimensity 9300. The phone has LPDDR5X RAM with UFS 4.0 storage.
Speaking of cameras, the phone uses a 50MP sensor for the primary camera with a large f/1.57 aperture lens and CIPA 4.5 level image stabilization. The ultrawide camera uses a 50MP sensor and an f/2.0 lens. Finally, there is a periscope telephoto camera with a 64MP sensor and an f/2.57 lens. For image processing, the phone uses the Vivo V2 chip.
For selfies, the phone uses a 32MP camera.
Finally, Android 14-based Origin OS 4 runs out of the box.
Vivo X100s comes in four colors, and here is the pricing –
- 12GB + 256GB – ¥3999 (~$553)
- 16GB + 256GB – ¥4399 (~$608)
- 16GB + 512GB – ¥4699 (~$650)
- 16GB + 1TB – ¥5199 (~$720)
VIVO X100s PRO
The Vivo X100s Pro has more features than the vanilla model. First and foremost, it has a curved display and, hence, a curved frame. The phone has a similar-looking camera module on the back with triple cameras. It is IP69 and IP68 certified, like the vanilla model.
The camera setup is upgraded compared to the X100s. The Vivo X100s Pro uses a 1-inch 50MP Sony IMX989 sensor for the primary camera with an f/1.75 aperture lens and OIS. For the ultrawide camera, there is a 1/2.76″ 50MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture lens. Finally, the periscope telephoto camera uses a 1/2″ 50MP sensor with an f/2.5 aperture lens and OIS. The selfie camera has the same 32MP sensor as the X100s. The phone can shoot up to 8K videos from the rear camera, compared to 4K on the Vivo X100s.
For image processing, there is the Vivo V3 chip, compared to the V2 in the X100s.
The battery is bigger at 5,400mAh, and the phone supports 50W wireless charging along with 100W wired charging.
The display is a 6.78-inch 8T LTPO OLED with a 120Hz refresh rate, 2160Hz PWM dimming, and a 1.5K resolution.
And finally, the phone runs on Android 14-based OriginOS 4.
