Vivo X100 and X100 Pro are now official in China, and these are the latest camera-centric flagship phones from the brand. These are the successors of the Vivo X90 & X90 Pro, launched last year with the Dimensity 9200 SOC. The USP of the Vivo’s X-series has always been the cameras and the design. The X100 series is no exception. Compared to the X90 series, there is a significant design overhaul this year.
VIVO X100
Vivo X100 has a big circular camera module placed in the center on the rear. The camera module has a triple camera setup, but the LED flash is placed outside the module. The phone is IP68 certified, an upgrade over the IP64 rating of the X90.
Since the cameras are one of the highlights of this phone, let’s talk about those first. The primary camera on the rear has a 50MP 1/1.49″ Sony IMX920 sensor with OIS and an f/1.57 lens. The ultrawide camera has a 50MP 1/2.76″ sensor with a 15mm lens. The third camera has a periscope lens and a 64MP 1/2″ sensor with OIS. The periscope camera offers 3x Optical Zoom and up to 100x digital zoom.
The selfie shooter has a 32MP sensor with an f/2.0 lens.
The rear cameras get ZEISS T* coating to get clear images by reducing glare and light ghosting effects. Vivo says the light intake is improved by 24.2% compared to the X90. The camera has also passed the CIPA stabilization test level 4.5 standard.
That’s not it! Vivo X100 gets the Vivo V2 chipset, which features an ISP, an AI compute unit, and an on-chip memory unit. Some nice software features include Cinematic Video, Portrait blur effects, ZEISS color science, telephoto macro photos, and so on.
Vivo X100 has a 6.78-inch 10-bit 120Hz AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution (2800 × 1260 pixels), 3000 nits peak brightness, and LTPO technology.
The phone has a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast wired charging support. There is no wireless charging support.
The chip is the MediaTek Dimensity 9300, paired with 12GB or 16GB RAM and 256GB or 512GB or 1TB storage. It is worth mentioning that the phone has a 16GB + 1TB version with LPDDR5T RAM, apart from LPDDR5X RAM. In short, LPDDR5T is faster than LPDDR5X.
Finally, OriginOS 4 runs out of the box, based on Android 14.
Vivo X100 comes in four colors, and here is the pricing for the Chinese market –
- 12GB + 256GB – ¥3999 (~$549)
- 16GB + 256GB – ¥4299 (~$589)
- 16GB + 512GB – ¥4599 (~$631)

- 16GB + 1TB (LPDDR5T RAM) – ¥5099 (~$699)
VIVO X100 PRO
The X100 Pro is not much different from the vanilla model in design. The camera module is larger because of better and larger sensors. This also results in an increased thickness than the X100. The display is the same, with no size or resolution change. The SOC is the same as well, and so are the storage options.
The main upgrade is in the cameras. Vivo X100 Pro has a triple camera setup on the rear. The primary camera has a 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor with an f/1.75 lens and OIS. The ultrawide camera has a 50MP 1/2.76″ sensor with a 15mm lens. The periscope camera has a 50MP 1/2-inch sensor with an f/2.5 lens, 4.3x Optical Zoom and OIS. The phone can shoot 8K videos.
Compared to the Vivo V2 chip inside the X100, the Vivo X100 Pro has an upgraded V3 chip built on the 6nm process. This chip is 30% more power efficient than the V2. Some of the highlights of this chip include the support for 4K movie portrait video, skin quality optimization, advanced color processing, and more.
The selfie shooter remains unchanged.
The battery is larger at 5,400mAh, and alongside 100W wired charging, the phone supports 50W wireless charging.
