Vivo launched some new devices today in China that include a premium flagship, a foldable, and a tablet. These are named the Vivo X Note, Vivo X Fold, and Vivo Pad. In this article, we are going to launch the X Note, which is a premium flagship phone from the brand. The main USP of this phone, apart from its high-end specs, is the massive 7-inch display that justifies the “Note” in its name. The phone starts at ¥5999, which is equivalent to around $940.

Vivo X Note

Design-wise, the Vivo X Note comes in three colors, and two of the color options feature a leather-like back finish. There is a circular camera module that is placed inside a rectangular housing. This housing extends all the way to the other side and includes the LED flash as well as the ZEISS branding. Also, as we can notice, one of the cameras has a periscope lens. Interestingly, on the left side, the phone has a ring/mute switch, similar to the OnePlus devices. The right side has the power button and volume rockers. Also, since this is a premium flagship phone, there is no 3.5mm headphone jack, and we are not surprised.

There is a stereo speaker setup, IP68 rating, X-axis linear motor, and even an IR blaster.

There is a large panel on the front with a hole punch in the middle, and it is curved on the sides. This is a 7-inch Quad-HD+ E5 LTPO AMOLED with up to 120Hz refresh rate.  There is HDR10+ support and a large 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner under the display. Vivo claims the unlock speed is as fast as 0.2s. For certain apps, you can even enable two-finger verification so you can double the security factor.

Under the hood, there is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SOC paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. This SOC is paired with Vivo’s in-house V1 chip, which does all the image processing stuff. This results in an increase in power efficiency as well, as per Vivo.

In terms of cameras, Vivo X Note has four on the rear. There is a primary 1/1.3″ 50MP Samsung GN1 sensor with OIS and an f/1.57 aperture lens,  a 48MP Sony IMX598 sensor with an ultrawide lens (114-degree), a 12MP Sony IMX663 sensor with a portrait lens (47mm), and finally an 8MP sensor with a periscope lens + OIS. The periscope camera offers up to 5X optical zoom and 60x digital zoom. There is support for up to 8K video recording as well. On the front, you get a 16MP camera for selfies.

The battery size is 5,000mAh, and the phone supports 80W fast wired charging and 50W fast wireless charging. There is support for 10W reverse wireless charging as well.

The phone runs on Android 12 out of the box, with OriginOS Ocean running on top.
