The Vivo X Fold 2 was launched in April last year with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, an improved hinge design, 120W wired + 50W wireless charging, and more. This year, in March, the brand launched the Vivo X Fold 3 & X Fold 3 Pro in China, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 & 8 Gen 3 chipsets, respectively. The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro has now been launched in the Indian market, and this makes it the first foldable phone from Vivo for the Indian market.
At 11.2mm, this is the slimmest foldable phone in the Indian market when in the folded state. When unfolded, the thickness is 5.2mm. It is also the lightest foldable phone in India at 236g. Note that we are talking about the “book-style” foldable phones, not the flip phones. The phone comes in a single color – Celestial Black.
There is a circular camera module on the rear with a triple camera setup and the ZEISS branding. The phone also features a periscope telephoto camera, an upgrade over the normal telephoto lens in the Vivo X Fold 2 last year.
Vivo claims that the phone can withstand 100 fold-unfolds a day for over 12 years. There is a carbon-fiber hinge design, and Armor Glass protection for the cover display. For the foldable screen, Vivo has used a Super Tensile UTG. The phone is IPX8-certified and the back panel has a Glass Fiber material. The frame is made of aluminum. There are stereo speakers.
Speaking of the specifications, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro features an 8.03-inch main LTPO AMOLED display with a 2480 × 2200 pixels resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate, and a 4500 nits peak brightness. The display supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. The cover display is a 6.53-inch LTPO AMOLED with a 2748 × 1172 pixels resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate, 4,500 nits peak brightness, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision.
Both displays feature an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and on top of that, the phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Under the hood, the phone has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, paired with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. The battery is 5,700mAh, and the phone supports 100W wired + 50W wireless charging.
Coming to the cameras, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro has a triple camera setup on the rear. The primary camera has a 50MP 1/1.3″ OV50H sensor with OIS and an f/1.68 aperture lens. The ultrawide camera uses a 50MP sensor, and the periscope telephoto camera has a 64MP sensor with 3x optical zoom. Both the displays feature a 32MP camera for selfies. The phone also uses the V3 imaging chip for image processing.
The price for the Indian market is ₹159,999. The sale starts on June 13.
