The “V” series phones from Vivo have been a great success in the Indian market & the company is now bringing one more phone to the Indian market under this series. The Vivo V17 is launching on December 9 in India & a press invite revealed this. Interestingly, the V17 Pro is already official in India & is priced at Rs 27,990.
The press invite reveals that V17 is coming with a hole-punch display which is interesting since the phone was launched in Russia with a notched display.
In Russia, the Vivo V17 comes with a U-shaped notch & a diamond-shaped camera layout on the rear. But, since the press invite reveals a hole-punch display, it is most likely possible that the V17 for the Indian market is the renamed Vivo S5 which was recently launched as the phone with the smallest punch-hole at 2.98mm. But then again, the S5 has Snapdragon 712 which is a better SOC than the Snapdragon 675 which powers the V17 Pro.
As per a leak from 91Mobiles, the V17 that is launching in India is a completely different phone in terms of the looks when compared to the V17 that launched in Russia. As the image above shows, the Indian V17 has a hole-punch display on the front & a rectangular camera module on the rear with four cameras in it & the LED flash. There is a 6.44-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel, Snapdragon 675 SOC, 8GB RAM, 128GB ROM, Quad rear cameras (48MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP), 4,500mAh battery & 18W Fast Charging.
