In the last week of March this year, Xiaomi showcased the 100W SuperCharge Turbo technology that can fully charge a 4,000mAh battery in just 17 minutes. While we haven’t seen a Xiaomi phone with this technology, Vivo just announced a faster-charging technology that this.
Yes, there is an even faster-charging technology now after the 100W charging. It’s the Vivo 120W Super FlashCharge & as the name suggests, it is a 120W Fast Charging technology.
As the title of the post says, this charging technology can fully charge a 4,000mAh battery from 0 to 100% in merely 13 seconds. Also, just 5 minutes of charging gives you a 50% charged battery. Isn’t that amazing? Well, with this announcement, questions like “Is it safe for phones?” have started emerging & it’s normal since this is an extremely fast charging technology & we have no idea what impact this would have on the phone’s battery.
With the MWC Shanghai taking place next week, Vivo is expected to showcase this technology there & it would be interesting to see it in real life. BTW, the company did post a video on Weibo showing a live demo of the Vivo 120W Super FlashCharge.
Companies are literally putting fans inside phones for better thermal management, so let’s see how Vivo is going to deal with the heat produced with such a fast charging technology.
