Today, alongside the flagship Sony Xperia 1 VI, the company launched a mid-range smartphone named the Xperia 10 VI. As the name suggests, this is the successor to the Xperia 10 V, launched last year with a Snapdragon 695 chipset for €449. The Sony Xperia 10 VI has some notable upgrades and a lower price than the predecessor.
Design-wise, the Sony Xperia 10 VI has a dual camera setup on the rear, compared to a triple camera setup last year. The phone is IP68 certified and has a Gorilla Glass Victus protection for the display. The back and the frame are made of plastic, resulting in a lightweight phone at 164g. The phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack and stereo front-firing speakers.
On the front, the Sony Xperia 10 VI has a 6.1-inch Full-HD+ OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate. Unlike the Xperia 1 VI, which ditches the 21:9 display for a 19.5:9 panel, the Xperia 10 VI retains the 21:9 display. It is a shame that the phone does not have a high refresh rate panel.
Under the hood is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The storage is expandable via a microSD card up to 1.5TB.
The battery is 5,000mAh, and the phone supports 30W wired charging.
On the back, the Sony Xperia 10 VI has two cameras. The primary camera has a 1/2.0″ 48MP Exmor RS for mobile sensor with an f/1.8 aperture lens. The ultrawide camera has an 8MP sensor with a 120-degree FOV lens. The phone lacks a telephoto camera, which the Xperia 10 V had. For selfies, there is an 8MP camera. The phone can shoot 4K videos at up to 30fps from the primary rear camera.
Finally, the phone runs on Android 14 out of the box and will get three OS updates.
The Sony Xperia 10 VI is available in three colors: Blue, White, and black. It costs €399 / £349.
