Let’s talk about the specifications of both the processors first. Starting with the manufacturing process, the Snapdragon 675 is manufactured using the 11nm process technology while the Snapdragon 712 processor is manufactured using the 10nm process technology. So, the 712 seems to have a slight advantage in this case as a smaller number indicates better power efficiency & performance.

The CPU remains the same as the Snapdragon 710, so in terms of the CPU, the Snapdragon 675 is still better than both the 710 as well as the 712. The Snapdragon 675 has Kryo 460 CPU while 710 has Kryo 360 CPU, which is less powerful.

But then again, when it comes to the GPU, the Snapdragon 712 is slightly ahead of the 675 as it has an Adreno 616 GPU compared to the Adreno 612 GPU of Snapdragon 675. The same case was there with the Snapdragon 710.

One significant difference between the two is the clock speed. The Snapdragon 675 is clocked at up to 2.0GHz while it’s up to 2.3GHz in case of Snapdragon 712. While the Snapdragon 675 has Spectra 250L ISP, the Snapdragon 712 has Spectra 250 ISP. Also, the Snapdragon 675 supports up to FHD+ display (2520 x 1080) whereas the Snapdragon 712 supports up to Quad-HD+ HDR10 display (3360 x 1440).

Rest of the specifications aren’t that different. Both the processors have the same DSP, both support up to 4K 30fps video recording, & Quick Charge 4+. So, that’s all about the “specifications” part of Snapdragon 675 vs Snapdragon 712.

SNAPDRAGON 675 VS SNAPDRAGON 712 – THE BENCHMARKS

Starting with the AnTuTu benchmark, the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE with Snapdragon 712 processor scores around 178-179K on AnTuTu and the Redmi Note 7 Pro with Snapdragon 675 scores the same, i.e., around 180K. So, it’s all because the clock speed is 2.3GHz in case of the Snapdragon 712 while it’s 2.0GHz in case of the Snapdragon 675. That’s why the scores are similar even when Snapdragon 675 has a better CPU on paper.

Talking about the Geekbench scores, the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE scores around 1917 on single core & 5606 on multi-core. The Redmi Note 7 Pro, on the other hand, scores 2390 on single core & 6229 on multi-core. So, in the case of Geekbench, there is a noticeable difference in the scores.

Coming to the Graphics performance, we already know that the Snapdragon 712 has a slightly better Adreno 616 GPU compared to the Snapdragon 675’s Adreno 612 GPU. As the Sling Shot Extreme scores suggest, the GPU performance is better in case of the Snapdragon 712. And that’s not a surprise since the same happened when we compared Snapdragon 675 vs Snapdragon 710.

CONCLUSION
