From the past few years, Samsung launches a few rugged smartphones and tablets along with its flagship devices. For example, the Galaxy S8 Active is already official, featuring a solid design, IP68 rating, 18:9 Display and more. Now, the company is soon going to launch the successor of Galaxy Tab Active of 2014 and today, the specifications of the tablet have leaked along with the official press render. Samsung is not going to make very significant design changes in the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 as the company wants to make all the accessories of Tab Active compatible with its successor.
SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB ACTIVE 2 SPECIFICATIONS
Starting with the display, the tab features a TFT LCD with a resolution of 1280×800. Under the hood, Exynos 7880 powers the phone which is an octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz. This Exynos 7880 comes with integrated LTE modem which means the LTE version of the tab will have the mobile internet support. Along with this, we also expect to see an ‘only WLAN’ supported variant. There is 3GB RAM with just 16GB of internal storage, but that can be expanded via the microSD card slot.
On the rear, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 features an 8MP camera with autofocus, and there is a 5MP front-facing camera. This tablet also features a fingerprint scanner that is embedded under the home button on the front. A 4,450mAh battery might be enough for the tablet for a whole day. Some other features include dual-band Gigabit WLAN, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, Notification LED, gyroscope, a geomagnetic sensor, USB Type-C Port, and GPS. Dimensions wise, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 is 9.9mm tall and weighs 419 grams. Also, it can be dropped from a height of 1.2 metres without any damage, thanks to the rugged design. As per the source, there are pogo pins on to connect the different accessories from 3rd party manufacturers.
