In October last year, the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE was launched with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 / Exynos 2200 chipset and a 50MP sensor. The phone was launched at $599 and featured IP68 certification, Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back, an aluminum frame, wireless charging, and more.
The brand is expected to launch the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE in October too, and today, we got the official images of the phone along with the specifications, thanks to AndroidHeadlines.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is launching in at least five color options – Graphite, Silver, Green, Yellow, and Blue. Design-wise, it looks identical to the Galaxy S23 FE, with a vertical triple camera setup on the rear and a hole punch design on the front.
There is an aluminum frame and the display is protected with Gorilla Glass Victus+. The phone is IP68 certified and supports wireless charging. While the Galaxy S23 FE featured a rounded frame, the Galaxy S24 FE seems to have a flat-frame design, similar to the Galaxy S24 series. The bezels on the front are also slimmer than the Galaxy S23 FE. The back has a matte finish, versus a glossy finish.
Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE uses the Exynos 2400e SOC. Going by the name, this is a less-powerful version of the Exynos 2400 with better power efficiency. The battery is 4,565mAh, slightly larger than the 4,500mAh battery inside the Galaxy S23 FE.
On the back, there are three cameras – a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide, and an 8MP 3x telephoto. For selfies, there is a 10MP sensor. On paper, this sounds like the same camera setup as the Galaxy S23 FE.
The display is a 6.7-inch 120Hz Full-HD+ AMOLED with a peak brightness of 1900 nits. For comparison, the Galaxy S23 FE had a 6.4-inch 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED display with up to 1,450 nits peak brightness.
Finally, the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE runs on OneUI 6.1.1 out of the box.
Well, compared to the Galaxy S23 FE, we are looking at a larger and brighter display, a better performance, a slightly larger display, and a flat-frame design. The Galaxy S23 FE was launched at $599, so it would be interesting to see at what price Samsung launches the Galaxy S24 FE.
