The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE was expected to launch in the third quarter of this year, but reportedly, Samsung has postponed the launch because of the shortage of Snapdragon chipsets. Almost a month ago, we got to see the design of S21 FE as the renders of the phone were shared by Evan Blass. Well, today, AndroidHeadlines shared the official image of the phone, which shows the device in four colors. For comparison, the last year’s S20 FE featured six color options.
Design-wise, the Galaxy S21 FE inherits the design from the Galaxy S21. So there is a similar-looking camera module design on the rear and a flat display on the front with a hole-punch cutout in the middle. One thing worth noticing is that this time, the camera bump is not as prominent as in the case of the regular S21. The source also said that just as in the case of last year’s S20 FE, the Galaxy S21 FE has a plastic back panel.
As far as the specifications of this phone are concerned, there is still confusion regarding the chipset that it has. It is said that Samsung was initially planning to go for the Snapdragon 888, but due to the shortage of the chipsets, Samsung might be going the Exynos route. We also expect a 120Hz AMOLED just like last year & a similar triple camera setup on the rear, i.e., three 12MP cameras – primary, ultrawide, and telephoto.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE of last year turned out to be one of the best phones launched by Samsung. In fact, in the US, almost 60% of carrier stores said that this phone is among Samsung’s top three best sellers. So, we are pretty sure the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE will also provide a similar value for money as the last generation.
