More than a year after the launch of the Galaxy M51, Samsung launched its successor in the Indian market today. The Galaxy M51 was a pretty impressive device featuring a Super AMOLED panel, Snapdragon 730G, a massive 7000mah battery, 25W charging, and more. The Galaxy M52 5G, as the name suggests, has 5G support as one of the biggest upgrades over the predecessor. In terms of specifications, the Galaxy M52 5G is a very similar phone to the Galaxy A52s.
The Galaxy M51 had its battery as the biggest USP, but that is not the case with the Galaxy M52 5G. At 7.4mm, this phone is now 21% sleeker than the M51, thanks to a smaller-sized battery. Design-wise, there is a similar Samsung-ish design here with that flat display on the front with a hole punch in the center and a rectangular camera module on the back with three lenses. The fingerprint scanner is still positioned on the right side instead of under the display. The phone also lacks a headphone jack this time which is weird.
In terms of the display, the Samsung Galaxy M52 5G has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate, so this is definitely one of the bigger upgrades over the Galaxy M51, which had a 60Hz Super AMOLED. Another major upgrade comes in terms of performance since the Galaxy M52 5G features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G SOC. It also supports 11 5G bands. This is a pretty popular chipset in the sub-Rs 30K price segment, as we have already seen Realme GT Master, Motorola Edge 20, and the iQOO Z5 with this chip.
There is 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage that is expandable up to 1TB.
Speaking of the camera setup, the Galaxy M52 5G has a 64 Megapixel main camera, a 12 Megapixel secondary ultrawide camera, and a third 5MP macro sensor. For selfies, there is a 32MP camera. Finally, the phone has a 5,000mAh battery and supports up to 25W fast charging. OneUI 3.1 runs out of the box, which is based on Android 11, and the phone also has Knox Security.
In India, the phone comes in two colors – Blazing Black and Icy Blue. Here is the pricing –
- 6GB + 128GB – ₹29,999 (Introductory Price – ₹26,999)
- 8GB + 128GB – ₹31,999 (Introductory Price – ₹28,999)
The sale begins on the 3rd of October, and you can buy the phone via Amazon as well as Samsung India’s website.
