Almost a month ago, the Samsung Galaxy M33 was officially announced globally with the Exynos 1280 5G SOC, a 5,000mAH battery, and a 50MP camera. Today, the phone launched in the Indian market, and except for the battery size, everything remains the same as the global version. This is a successor to the Samsung Galaxy M32 5G that launched last year with Dimensity 720 5G SOC, a 720p display, and a 5,000mAh battery.
Design-wise, the Galaxy M33 has a plastic build, and there is a square-shaped camera module with a Quad Camera setup. The fingerprint scanner is there on the side, and there is an Infinity-V display on the front. In short, the design is definitely not among the pros of this phone. There is a Type-C port on the bottom along with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
In terms of the specs, Samsung Galaxy M33 has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD with an FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The display is protected with Gorilla Glass protection. The waterdrop notch on top houses the 8MP selfie camera. The SOC is Exynos 1280, which is interestingly the same chip that powers the Samsung Galaxy A53, priced at ₹35999. Samsung even claims that the Galaxy M33 has the best 5nm SOC in its price segment. There is 6/8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage that is also expandable.
As for the cameras, there are four on the rear, where the primary camera has a 50MP sensor with an f/1.8 lens. There is a second 5MP sensor with an f/2.2 lens for ultrawide shots, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro camera. As mentioned in the beginning, the battery size is larger than the global variant. It is 6,000mAh for the Indian market, whereas in the global market, the phone comes with a 5,000mAh cell. Finally, OneUI 4.1 runs out of the box, which is based on Android 12.
Speaking of the pricing, there are two storage options, and here is the price for India –
- 6GB + 128GB – ₹18,999
- 8GB + 128GB – ₹20,499
Samsung is offering a price cut of ₹1000 initially so, which brings the starting price down to ₹17,999. Moreover, if you use ICICI cards, you can get a ₹2000 discount. In short, you can get the base variant for as low as ₹15,999. The sale starts on the 8th of April in India, and you can get the phone via Samsung India’s website and Amazon.
