Last month, Samsung launched two phones in the all-new ‘M’ series, the Galaxy M10, and M20. Both the phones were launched at aggressive pricing in India to compete with phones in the same segment from companies like Xiaomi, Honor, Asus, Realme, etc. Today, Samsung launched the third phone in the ‘M’ series in India, the Galaxy M30. We already know a lot about the phone, thanks to the official teasers and the leaks.
Since the Samsung Galaxy M30 is now official, let’s talk about the device in detail.
There is not much difference when it comes to the design as the Galaxy M30 too has a polycarbonate back with a glossy finish. On the front, the phone gets an Infinity-U display unlike the Infinity-V display on the M10 and M20. It is a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED panel with a Full-HD+ resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio.
The screen-to-body ratio is around 90%. It is worth mentioning that the M10 and M20 have TFT displays. So, the Super AMOLED screen on the Galaxy M30 is a big upgrade.
As we already know, the Samsung Galaxy M30 has the same Exynos 7904 processor as the Galaxy M20. So, it is the same 14nm octa-core 1.8GHz processor with Mali-G71 MP2 GPU. The price starts at Rs 14,999 in India and at this price, the Exynos 7904 is a very weak processor. There are two storage options – 4GB + 64GB & 6GB + 128GB. There is a dedicated microSD card slot which supports microSD card up to 512GB.
The main USP of the Samsung Galaxy M30 is its triple camera setup which is the first on any phone under Rs 15,000 in India. There is a primary 13MP f/1.9 camera, a secondary 5MP f/2.2 depth sensor, and a third 5MP ultra-wide-angle camera (123-degree). So, the primary and the wide-angle camera are the same as on the M20. The only new addition is the depth sensor. There is a 16MP front-facing camera.
The Galaxy M30 has the same 5,000mAh battery underneath as the M20 that supports 15W Fast Charging via the USB Type-C port. For security, there is fingerprint scanner as well as the Face Unlock.
The Samsung Galaxy M30 comes in two colors – Gradient Blue & Gradient Black. The price starts at Rs 14,999 for the 4GB + 64GB variant and Rs 17,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant. You can buy it in India from Amazon as well as the official Samsung India’s website. The first sale is happening on March 7 at 12 Noon.
