Well, both the phones are similar regarding the design, but as the names indicate, the Samsung Galaxy A8+ is larger than the A8 due to the bigger display. The phones look premium, thanks to the Glass and Metal design that we see on high-end Samsung flagships.

There is an 18:9 display on the front so, the fingerprint scanner is placed on the rear, below the camera lens. The volume rockers are present on the left side whereas the Power button and speaker grill are present on the right. On the bottom, there is a USB Type-C Port along with the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Let’s talk about the specifications now. The Galaxy A8 and A8+ (2018) pack 5.5-inch & 6-inch 18:9 Super AMOLED Full-HD+ displays respectively and are both powered by the Exynos 7885 octa-core processor with 4/6GB RAM and 32/64GB ROM that is expandable via external microSD card. There is a 16MP rear camera with f/1.7 aperture while on the front, Samsung has added dual cameras including 16MP primary shooter with f/1.9 aperture and 8MP secondary camera with f/1.9 aperture. These dual front cameras help to take portrait mode (Live Focus) photos from the front camera and users can adjust the blur too. Below are some of the camera samples of the phone. (Keep in mind that cameras are same on both A8 and A8+).

There is also face unlock feature, just like on the OnePlus 5T. The video shows that it is not as fast as the one on 5T, but it is very quick identifying your face as soon as you press the power button. Both the Galaxy A8 and A8+ are dust and water resistant.
