Samsung Galaxy A30s & Galaxy A50s announced

Samsung announced two new phones today, named Galaxy A30s & Galaxy A50s. As the names suggest, these are minor upgrades over the Galaxy A30 & Galaxy A50 that also launched this year. While the Samsung Galaxy A30s is a budget phone, the Samsung Galaxy A50s is a mid-ranger & the successor to Samsung’s best selling A-series phone, the Galaxy A50.

SAMSUNG GALAXY A30s & GALAXY A50s – DESIGN & SPECIFICATIONS

One major design change includes the new back panel design that’s there on both the A30s as well as A50s. There is now a new unique geometric pattern and futuristic holographic effect on the back. Moreover, there are now some new colours as well that include Prism Crush Black, Prism Crush White, Prism Crush Green and Prism Crush Violet.

The Galaxy A30s now has triple rear cameras instead of two as on A30 & also packs an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The display on the Samsung Galaxy A30s is a 6.4-inch HD+ (720×1560) Super AMOLED panel & there is a waterdrop notch. Under the hood, the phone has an octa-core SOC with Dual 1.8GHz cores & Hexa 1.6GHz cores. Samsung doesn’t reveal the name of the chipset, but we know that it is the Exynos 7904. The phone has 3/4GB RAM & 32/64/128GB storage. You can expand the storage up to 512GB.

On the rear, the Samsung Galaxy A30s has a triple camera setup that includes a primary 25MP f/1.7 camera, a secondary 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera & a third 5MP depth sensor. On the front, there is a single 16MP f/2.0 camera. There is a 4,000mAh battery & the phone supports 15W Fast Charging. There is a USB Type-C port for charging.

Coming to the Samsung galaxy A50s, it has the same geometric pattern on the rear panel. The rest of the design is similar to the Galaxy A50 with that vertically placed triple camera setup on the back, an Infinity-U display on the front & more. The display is of the same size as the A30s, but the resolution is bumped up to FHD+ (1080×2340). There is an in-screen fingerprint reader.

Just like the Galaxy A50, the A50s has a triple camera setup that includes a primary 48 Megapixel F/2.0 camera that is most likely having Samsung GM1 sensor instead of IMX 586. There is a secondary 8MP Ultra-Wide-Angle camera & a third 5MP depth sensor. On the front, there is a 32MP f/2.0 camera.

The chipset powering the Samsung Galaxy A30s is an octa-core Exynos 9610 SOC that is the same chip which powers the Galaxy A50. There is 4/6GB RAM & 64/128GB storage with an option to add an SD card up to 512GB.

The Samsung Galaxy A50s also has a 4,000mAh battery with 15W Fast Charging via USB Type-C port.
