Samsung Galaxy A21s with Exynos 850 launched in India

Samsung Galaxy A21s is the latest offering from the brand in the sub-Rs 20,000 price segment in India & as the name suggests, this is the successor to last year’s Galaxy A20s. One of the highlights of the Galaxy A21s is its chipset. It is the first Samsung phone to launch with the Exynos 850 which is an 8nm chipset featuring an octa-core CPU & the Mali-G52 MP1 GPU.

SAMSUNG GALAXY A21s – DESIGN & SPECIFICATIONS

Samsung Galaxy A21s Design

The Galaxy A21s looks like just another phone from Samsung as the design is the same as other Samsung phones launched this year. There is a punch-hole display on the front or what Samsung calls an “Infinity-O” display. There are Quad cameras on the rear placed in a rectangular housing. The fingerprint scanner is also there on the back because the panel on the front is LCD & not AMOLED (A20s had an AMOLED screen).

There is a USB Type-C port on the bottom & the whole body is made of polycarbonate.

Samsung Galaxy A21s Display

The display on the front is a 6.5-inch TFT LCD panel with HD+ resolution. And do you know how much the phone costs for the base variant? Well, it starts at Rs 16,499. If it was priced around Rs 10-11K, the display being just HD+ wouldn’t have been an issue. But when a phone is priced above Rs 15,000, it should have a Full-HD+ display.

Do you know what’s funny? Samsung is one of the biggest (or perhaps the biggest) display manufacturer for smartphones, yet the company couldn’t add a Full-HD+ panel to its latest mid-range phone.

Samsung Galaxy A21s Battery

Talking about the Exynos 850 in detail, its octa-core CPU consists of eight Cortex-A55 cores. Now that means while it is an extremely power-efficient CPU, it is definitely not up there against the likes of Snapdragon 730G, 730G, Helio G90T etc. in terms of the performance.

The Samsung Galaxy A21s has a 5,000mAh battery & there is no mention of any fast charging on the official website, maybe because there isn’t any.

Samsung Galaxy A21s Camera

The Quad Camera array on the rear includes a primary 48 Megapixel unit (with Samsung sensor of course), a secondary 8 Megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with 123-degree FOV, a 2 Megapixel macro & a 2 Megapixel depth sensor. There is a 13 Megapixel camera for selfies. The rear camera can shoot up to 1080p 30fps videos.

Finally, Android 10 runs out of the box with OneUI on top.
