Samsung has quietly unveiled its entry-level Galaxy A01 smartphone as the device is listed on the official SamsungMobilePress website. Since it is an entry-level device, there isn’t anything fancy, but the star of the show is the RAM & storage option. This phone is listed on the website with 6/8GB RAM & 128GB ROM, which is unheard of for an entry-level device. The rest of the specifications are, well, meh!
Considering that it is an entry-level phone, there isn’t anything special about the design. The phone has an Infinity-V display on the front, which means there is a Waterdrop notch. There is also a huge bottom chin. On the rear, there are dual cameras. The speaker grill is also placed on the rear. To no surprise, the Samsung Galaxy A01 has a plastic build.
The USB port is there on the bottom, which is most likely a micro-USB but could be a Type-C port as well.
There is a 5.7-inch HD+ Infinity-V display on the front & the device is powered by an octa-core SOC whose name is not mentioned on the site, but it could be the Snapdragon 439 since that SOC has four cores clocked at 1.95GHz & rest of the four at 1.45GHz, just as mentioned on Samsung’s website. There is 6/8GB RAM & 128GB storage that is expandable up to 512GB.
On the rear, there is a dual-camera setup that includes a primary 13MP camera with f/2.2 aperture & a secondary 2MP depth sensor. There is a single 5MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. Samsung Galaxy A01 has a 3,000mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy A01 comes in three colors – Black, Blue, & Red. The pricing & availability details are not mentioned on the website but expect to price to be somewhere around $100. It might launch in markets like India soon at a price of around Rs 6,000.
