Redmi Turbo 5 & Redmi Turbo 5 Max key specs shared by the company

Both feature MediaTek chipsets!

The Redmi Turbo 5 series is set to launch in China on January 29, and the brand has now shared the key details of both phones.  already knew a lot of the specifications, but now, they are officially confirmed by the company. If you don’t know, there are two smartphones under the Turbo 5 series – Redmi Turbo 5 and the Redmi Turbo 5 Max.

Starting with the vanilla model, the Redmi Turbo 5 is coming with a metal frame and a glass back. For comparison, the Redmi Turbo 4 featured a polycarbonate build. The Turbo 5 is IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certified. There are dual cameras on the rear and a flat display on the front. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset and features LPDDR5X Ultra RAM with UFS 4.1 storage. The battery is 7,560mAh, and there is 100W fast wired charging alongside 27W fast reverse wired charging support. Finally, the phone has a 6.59-inch 1.5K LTPS OLED panel with an optical under-display fingerprint scanner and 3500 nits peak brightness.

The phone is expected to launch globally as the Poco X8 Pro. The starting price in China should be around ¥2,000, or around $300.

Next up, we have the Redmi Turbo 5 Max. Compared to the Redmi Turbo 5, the phone has a bigger 6.83-inch display with a 3840Hz PWM dimming and an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner. The phone has a dual camera setup on the rear, but the camera module design is slightly different than the vanilla model, and there are two LED flash modules. The phone has the same IP rating as the vanilla model and the same glass & metal design.

One of the highlights of the Turbo 5 Max is its 9,000mAh battery. This is one of the biggest batteries in any Redmi smartphone launched to date. There is 100W fast wired charging and 27W fast reverse wired charging support. The chipset is the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The phone has a 5800mm square 3D VC cooling system.
