The design of the Redmi Turbo 5 Max was recently shared by the brand on Weibo, revealing a clean design, which is pretty similar to the Redmi Turbo 4 series of last year. The brand has now officially announced the launch date for China. We will get not one but two smartphones under the Turbo 5 series on January 29. There is a vanilla Redmi Turbo 5 and a slightly better Redmi Turbo 5 Max.
Alongside the launch date, the brand has also shared images of a different color option of the Redmi Turbo 5 Max than what we saw earlier.
The Redmi Turbo 5 Max is coming with an Orange color option, and this one looks similar to the iPhone 17 Pro’s orange color option.

Speaking of the vanilla model, the Redmi Turbo 5 is almost the same as the Turbo 5 Max in terms of looks, with the only differences being a slightly different camera module design and a single LED flash module on the back. The power button and the camera module have a red accent, which looks quite nice on the Turbo 5. It is also worth mentioning that there is a metal frame on the Redmi Turbo 5, so it is not limited to only the Redmi Turbo 5 Max. One thing that is noticeable in the official images is that the vanilla model does not have cutouts for the secondary speaker on the top. So, either the phone lacks a stereo speaker setup, or the speaker is present in the earpiece cutout on the front.
As we already know, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset and packs a massive 9,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging support. It is IP69-certified and has a metal frame. The vanilla Redmi Turbo 5 is reported to have a Dimensity 8500 chipset.
If these phones are launched outside China, they are expected to launch under the Poco X8 series.
