The Redmi Note 12 was launched in China in October last year, featuring the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset, a 120Hz OLED display, 33W fast charging, and more. Today, the brand launched the successor, the Redmi Note 13. The price starts at ¥1099, lower than the starting price of Redmi Note 12 (¥1199). And even with a lower price, the Note 13 has some significant upgrades over the predecessor.

Redmi Note 13

Starting with the design, Redmi Note 13 looks premium. The flat display on the front has slim bezels all around, and the chin is just 2.25mm. This is unheard of in this price segment since we usually expect phones with big bottom chins. The sides are flat, and there is a dual-camera setup on the rear. The fingerprint sensor is on the side, and the phone doesn’t skip the 3.5mm headphone jack.

The phone is quite slim at 7.6mm and weighs 173.5g. Finally, there are stereo speakers.

The display is a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED with a Full-HD+ resolution, 10-bit color depth, and 1000 nits peak brightness. The panel has 1920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. For comparison, the Redmi Note 12 had the same sized display with the same refresh rate and resolution but a higher peak brightness of 1200 nits.

The chip is the MediaTek Dimensity 6080, compared to the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 in the Redmi Note 12. The Dimensity 6080 is a rebrand of the Dimensity 810. It is based on the 6nm process and has an octa-core CPU clocked at up to 2.4GHz. There is 6/8/12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128/256GB UFS 2.2 storage. Redmi claims the phone scores around 448000 points on the AnTuTu benchmark.

Finally, Android 13-based MIUI 14 runs out of the box.
