Redmi Note 12T Pro with Dimensity 8200 Ultra launching soon

The phone has an LCD panel

In May last year, Redmi Note 11T Pro & Redmi Note 11T Pro+ were launched in China, powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SOC. The Redmi Note 11T Pro was launched globally as the Poco X4 GT and in the Indian market as the Redmi K50i. The brand is now set to launch the Redmi Note 12T Pro successor. The phone will launch in China in the coming days, and the company has already shared some details on Weibo.

Starting with the design first, Redmi Note 12T Pro looks identical to the Redmi Note 11T Pro. The camera module design hasn’t changed from last year. The phone has flat sides and comes in three colors – Black, White & Blue. The black color option has a carbon fiber-like pattern on the back. The 3.5mm headphone jack is on the top, alongside the second speaker and the IR blaster. The primary speaker is on the bottom with the Type-C port.

Redmi Note 12T Pro has a flat panel with a hole punch cutout in the center, the same as last year. In fact, the company has still used an LCD panel on this phone with up to 144Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, the phone has the MediaTek Dimensity 8200-Ultra chipset, the same SOC which powered the recently launched Xiaomi Civi 3. Compared to the Dimensity 8100 in Redmi Note 11T Pro, the Dimensity 8200-Ultra should offer a noticeable boost in performance. Redmi claims an AnTuTu benchmark score of over 900,000. There is up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage.

The battery size is the same as last year – 5,080mAh.  Finally, there is a 64MP sensor for the primary rear camera.

Well, compared to the Redmi Note 11T Pro, there is only one major upgrade in the Redmi Note 12T Pro: performance. Apart from the performance, this is pretty much the same phone.

The Note 11T Pro was launched in China at ¥1799, so we are expecting the Note 12T Pro to start under ¥2,000.
