Redmi Note 12 Pro+ features a 200MP Samsung HPX sensor

Redmi Note 12 series is launching on October 27

The Redmi Note 12 series is launching in China on October 27, and recently, Redmi announced that this series would feature a phone with a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor and OIS. But now, Redmi has revealed something that is even more fascinating. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is the most feature-packed phone in this series and features a sensor with the highest-ever megapixel count on any Redmi phone. It is the Samsung HPX sensor that outputs 200 Megapixel images.

The Samsung HPX sensor debuted earlier this month, and speaking of the specifications, the individual pixel size is 0.56μm. With pixel binning, there are two options to choose from – 1.12μm pixel size and 50MP resolution or 2.24μm pixel size and 12.5MP resolution. The sensor size is 1/1.4″. Interestingly, these specifications are the same as the Samsung HP3 sensor, so the HPX sensor may be simply a rebadged HP3 sensor for the Chinese market.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ has an HPX sensor behind an f/1.65 aperture lens.

Again, the launch is taking place in a couple of days in China, so we will get to know all the details at the launch event.
