The Note 12 series in India currently include three smartphones – Note 12 5G, Note 12 Pro 5G & Note 12 Pro+ 5G. As the names suggest, all three phones are 5G phones & the price starts at ₹17,999 for the Note 12 & goes up to ₹29,999 for the Note 12 Pro+. The company is now preparing to launch a new phone under this series; the Redmi Note 12 & this will be a non-5G phone. The launch date is March 30.
The main USP of this phone will be its display & the chipset. It has a 120Hz Super AMOLED display & a Snapdragon 685 chipset. The Snapdragon 685 SOC is a slightly overclocked version of the Snapdragon 680 chip, so it should offer marginally better performance. While there are no official details from Qualcomm on this chipset, there are some reports that the CPU is clocked at up to 2.8GHz, compared to 2.4GHz for the Snapdragon 680.
Other features confirmed by Redmi include a 50MP primary rear camera, a 5,000mAH battery & 33W fast charging support.
Compared to Redmi Note 11, the phone offers a new design, better performance, and a higher refresh rate display (120Hz vs. 90Hz). The battery size & the charging speed is the same as last year.
We are expecting the phone to launch for under ₹15,000 in India.
