The Redmi K70 series was launched in China in November last year, and the brand is now all set to launch the successors in China. The launch date is November 27, and today, the brand shared the official first look at the Redmi K80 Pro from all angles.
The phone is launching alongside the vanilla model, which should be almost the same in terms of the design.
Design-wise, the Redmi K80 Pro looks quite different this year, thanks to that circular camera module on the rear in the top left corner. The Redmi K70 Pro had a rectangular camera module last year. The small circular camera module has a triple-camera setup. The back has a two-tone design where one half has this plain finish while the other half has a pattern. The phone has a flat frame, and this is a metal frame, as evident from the antenna lines.
On the front, the Redmi K80 Pro has a flat display with slim bezels and a small hole punch cutout in the center.
One thing worth mentioning is that Redmi has announced its new branding, where the logo now has all the letters capitalized. The logo now uses a new “Red” color. So, going forward, this is the logo we will see on all the Redmi devices.
Speaking of the specifications, the company has revealed that the Redmi K80 Pro uses a new M9 OLED panel from TCL Huaxing and it will be a Quad-HD+ 120Hz display with an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner. The new panel has up to 20% less power consumption than the one on the Redmi K70 Pro, and the global peak brightness is 1800 nits.
As for the vanilla model, the only design change versus the Redmi K80 Pro is the lack of a third camera on the rear. Also, the vanilla model gets a “Blue” color option, which the “Pro” does not have.
The Redmi K80 Pro is expected to launch with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and we expect the Redmi K80 to launch with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Both phones are rumored to feature wireless charging.
